During the project we have worked hard to explore how we can make it as easy as possible for people to choose services that they want, in particular services which are innovative and new to the market.
Now that there is increased clarity about how the system will work – with some support for external support planning, alongside an in-house brokerage team, we think it would be useful to explore how we could make it as easy as possible for customers and intermediaries to consider services from third sector providers.
This idea needs further exploration as part of the Personalisation, Made in Bradford network, but the basic idea is:
- Information about the outcomes that a person wants to achieve are shared on an anonymous basis by support planners/brokers with any organisations which are interested in delivering services. A simple process for sharing this information could be worked out, which could potentially be web-based.
- Organisations may potentially organise themselves loosely into a “marketing co-op” which co-ordinated this process on their behalf (although clearly there is no scope for an expensive intermediary at this stage in this process).
- Organisations would then be welcome to bid to deliver parts of the support plan. We would like to explore ways that this process could be transparent and open – to encourage collaboration and make it easier to see where there are opportunities to meet needs which are not currently being met.
We think this approach could stimulate the demand for and provision of new, innovative services.
